With over 12 years of experience in criminal litigation, Dato' Amirul Ridzuan is a highly respected and seasoned criminal defence lawyer, widely recognised for his work on high-profile and complex cases. 

His practice spans a broad spectrum of serious criminal matters, including murder, kidnapping, firearms offences, drug trafficking, corruption, sexual offences, and other major criminal charges. He has consistently represented clients facing some of the most severe allegations under Malaysian law, particularly those carrying the death penalty.

He began his legal career at Messrs. Hanif & Co., where he served as a partner and criminal defence counsel from 2010. Motivated by a vision to build a practice grounded in justice, professionalism, and fearless advocacy, he later founded this  firm—dedicated to defending the rights of the accused and upholding the integrity of the legal process.

Puan Athirah Shafique 's journey into the world of law began during her undergraduate studies in the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) program at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), where her deep interest in criminal law first took root. This early passion for criminal justice led her to pursue advanced studies, culminating in a Master of Criminal Justice degree from the University of Malaya, where she graduated with distinction. Her academic achievements reflect her dedication to mastering the intricacies of the legal system, particularly in the realm of criminal law.

After completing her education, she embarked on her professional legal career at Messrs. Hanif & Co., a respected law firm where she trained under the tutelage of the esteemed criminal defense lawyer , the late Dato’ Hanif Hashim. Between 2015 and 2018, she worked closely with Dato' Hanif, gaining invaluable experience in defending clients in high-stakes criminal cases. This formative period allowed her to refine her legal skills and develop a strategic, results-oriented approach to criminal defense, ensuring that her clients received the best possible representation.

In 2019, she was appointed as a Deputy Public Prosecutor in Kuantan, Pahang, where she served with dedication and commitment. During her tenure in the prosecution, she worked on numerous criminal cases, gaining a thorough understanding of the prosecution process and honing her skills in presenting cases before the court. However, it was during this period that she also realized her true calling lay in defending the rights of the accused, believing strongly in the importance of a fair and just trial for all individuals, regardless of the charges against them.

Motivated by a deep sense of duty to uphold the fundamental rights of individuals and her belief in the right to a fair defense, she made the decision to return to private practice in 2020. With a clear focus on criminal defense, she co-founded her current practice alongside Dato’ Amirul Ridzuan Hanif, a senior legal practitioner with whom she shares a mutual vision of building a law firm that is both reputable and rooted in integrity, excellence, and justice.

Today, she continues to be a passionate advocate for her clients, dedicating herself to ensuring that the voices of the accused are heard, and their rights are defended. Anasuha is a Legal Professional experienced in Criminal & Civil Litigation, Contracts Management, Legal Drafting and Corporate Advisory.

Graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia, she started up her career in Messrs. Raja Darryl and Loh as pupil-in-chamber assisted the partners and senior associates in Contracts, Construction, Medico-Legal and Defamation Claims on behalf of its clients. Anasuha completed her pupillage and admitted to the Bar in July 2017.

To enhance her length of knowledge, she explored corporate world and had earned corporate advisory skills including insolvency, liquidation, receivership and property management of the stakeholders. She then was offered to be a Deputy Public Prosecutor in Pahang and conducted numerous prosecution cases.

Subsequently, Anasuha joined the Legal Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. There, she conducted application for the writ of habeas corpus and judicial review applications in High Court and took up appeal at the apex court. She has vast experience and exposure during her time at the Legal Division, Ministry of Home Affairs defending the government against constitutional issues alike. Simultaneously, she was also tasked with vetting numbers and varieties of contractual agreements entered by the Ministry. Suffice to say that her skills are not limited to litigation per se.

She then joined the Legal Division of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health wearing two hats as a Federal Counsel/Deputy Public Prosecutor. She explores a different field entailing her in providing legal expertise/advise on occupational and safety (OSH) issues and regulations including vetting contractual agreements and MOU and other legal instruments. She was also involved in drafting subsidiary legislation and exemption orders. Wearing two hats, she managed to juggle between giving legal advise and handling prosecutions involving the Department. 

Within a short span, being a dedicated officer, Anasuha able to grasp the law and advocate her way in order to earn respect of her esteemed peers,hence, rise to any challenges.
